bingeglot Terms of Use
Effective
These terms apply to the bingeglot browser extension and the bingeglot.com website ("bingeglot", "we", "us"). By installing or using bingeglot, you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use bingeglot. Our Privacy Policy explains how bingeglot handles information.
Using bingeglot
bingeglot is a free tool for learning languages, for your personal, non-commercial use. We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable and revocable permission to use it under these terms. You agree not to use it unlawfully, interfere with our servers, or download our dictionaries or audio in bulk by automated means.
Streaming services
bingeglot works alongside Netflix, YouTube, Disney+, Prime Video and HBO Max, but it is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by any of them. Their names and logos are trademarks of their owners. You need your own account with each service, and you are responsible for following its terms when you use bingeglot with it. Streaming services can change their websites at any time, which may stop bingeglot from working on them.
Subtitles and videos
Subtitles, videos and other content on streaming services belong to their owners. bingeglot displays subtitles in your browser while you watch and gives you no rights in them. Do not use bingeglot to copy, record or redistribute that content.
Definitions and pronunciation
Definitions come from open dictionaries built from Wiktionary: WikDict, under CC BY-SA 3.0, and Kaikki, under CC BY-SA 4.0. Pronunciations are computer-generated voice clips or your browser's own voices. Both are learning aids. They may be incomplete or wrong, and they are not a substitute for professional translation or instruction, so do not rely on them where accuracy matters.
Changes to bingeglot
We may change, suspend or discontinue bingeglot, or any part of it such as a language, dictionary, voice or supported site, at any time and without notice.
No warranty
bingeglot is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, non-infringement, accuracy, and uninterrupted or error-free operation. You use bingeglot at your own risk.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, bingeglot and its owners, contributors and service providers will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits, revenue, goodwill or use, arising from or relating to bingeglot or these terms, even if told such damages were possible. This includes errors in definitions, translations or pronunciations, interruptions to bingeglot or a streaming service, and anything a streaming service does regarding your account. Our total liability for all claims relating to bingeglot will not exceed US$50.
Your responsibility
You agree to defend, indemnify and hold harmless bingeglot and its owners against any claims, damages, losses and expenses, including reasonable legal fees, arising from your use of bingeglot in breach of these terms, the law or a streaming service's terms.
Where the law says otherwise
Some places do not allow certain warranties to be excluded or liability to be limited. There, the exclusions and limits above apply to the fullest extent the law allows, and nothing in these terms takes away rights that cannot be waived by contract.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. We will post the new version here with a new effective date. Continuing to use bingeglot after a change means you accept the updated terms.
General
These terms are the entire agreement between you and us about bingeglot. If any part of them cannot be enforced, the rest stays in effect. Not enforcing a term is not a waiver of it.
